DUNDALK BULLS LADIES WINS FIRST GAME

December 15, 2007 - The Dundalk Bulls Ladies won their first ever Development Division game against the visiting Belfast Eagles.

The first period started out well for both teams as opportunities at both ends of the ice. Seanna Conway made some big saves early to keep the score level at 0-0. It took ten minutes until the games first and only goal. The Bulls Ladies' Sonya McEneaney, put the puck on net and Erika Murphy put the puck past Sarah McFarland scoring the first goal of the season for the ladies team. This woke up the visiting Eagles and they would have several chances to pull level with Conway standing tall in the Bulls goal.

The second period started much like the first period ended with the Eagles getting the lion-share of possession and peppering the Bull's netminder who was up to the task. Seanna Conway turned aside fifteen shots in the second period.

The third period saw the Eagle pour on the pressure. The Bulls ladies took two penalties early on. The Eagle applied pressure and were almost rewarded at the ten minute mark of the third when a shot hit the crossbar and came down on the blue ice but not crossing the line. The ladies scrambled to clear the puck out of the crease and eventually Conway covered up. That would be the best opportunity for the visitors to tie the game. But it wasn't to be for the Eagles as the final buzzer would sound earning the elated Bulls their first win of the season.

Seanna Conway was the story for the Ladies standing tall making 41 saves in the game while Eagles goalie Sarah McFarland stopped 10 shots in the loss. Coach Vytautas Lukosevicious was speechless after the game but, was ecstatic with the effort the girls put in.
