Q. How Many rinks are there in Ireland?

A. There are currently two rinks in Ireland both in Belfast.

Q. What do I have to do to play for Ireland?

A. If you wish to play for Ireland you first must have a full Irish passport. It must clearly state on your passport that you were born in Ireland. If not, you must then apply for an International Transfer Card (ITC) which is issued via the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) through the new association which you are moving to being Ireland. From the date of issue there is a waiting period of two years. After the two year period is up you are then eligible to play.

Q. Can I buy a national team jersey with name and numbers on it?M

A. Currently we are unable to supply our supporter's jersey with names and numbers. We do hope in the future to be able to customise jerseys for our customers.

Q. Is there a national girl's team?
A. At present we do not have a national girl's team we do hope in the near future to have one.

Q. Is the Belfast Giants part of the IIHA?

A. The Belfast Giants are based in Belfast but play in the UK elite league. They are a professional team and a majority of the players are from North America. They do have some players from Belfast on the team. The Giants have for the past years assisted the IIHA with its National Team Program and we are very grateful to them.
